Obituary of Michael Lee Eakin

Michael “Mike” Lee Eakin Michael “Mike” Eakin, age 61, of Erie, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023. He was born in Toledo, OH on November 8, 1961, the son of Lillian Uellner Eakin of Toledo and the late Coy Lee Eakin. He was employed at the Ability Center of Greater Toledo as a disability rights advocate. He was a member of Millcreek Community Church and ADAPT. He loved all sports particularly the Ohio State Buckeyes, Philadelphia Eagles, and the Detroit Lions. He also enjoyed gardening. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one sister Marieda Ann Eakin and one brother Cary D. Eakin. He is survived by his mother, his beloved wife Shona C. Rasel Eakin, one son Brandon L. Eakin, one daughter Elizabeth J. Eakin, one sister Melissa Stritzinger, two aunts Betty Weir, Judy Eakin, and one niece Sara Stritzinger and one nephew Dylan Stritzinger. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 2 pm until the time of the funeral service at 4 pm. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Millcreek Community Church, 4444 Sterrettania Rd., Erie, PA 16506.
