Obituary of Doris Helen Swan

Doris Helen Sachrison Swan, age 92 of Erie, passed away at her home on Saturday, August 20, 2022. She was born in Erie on October 11, 1929, a daughter of the late George L. and Bertha A. (May) Sachrison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Steele Swan Jr. in 2017; one sister, Betty Becker and one brother, George Sachrison. Doris lived in Erie her whole life and worked as a bookkeeper for Erie Audiology for thirty years. She was a longtime, active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was the financial secretary there for over 50 years. She was truly a numbers person and was also the treasurer for the Ladies Aid Society and the Four Corners Garden Club. She was an avid card player, especially Euchre at the Mercy Center and Bridge at the Salvation Army. Doris also enjoyed square dancing with the Lads & Lassies. She is survived by her two children, Carol Zamperini (Mark) and James Steele Swan III (Linda); grandchildren, Karen Zamperini (Curtis Heckelman), Dr. Kate Zamperini, David Zamperini (Jenny), Matthew Zamperini (Lena), Autumn Swan and Elliott Swan and great-grandchildren, Ian, Eva and Lila Heckelman and Wyatt Thaxton. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral service there at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
