Obituary of George Robert Bennett

George Robert Bennett, age 84, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Saint Mary's Asbury Ridge. Known as Bob to family and close friends, George was born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 5, 1936, to the late George and Jean Bennett. Moving several times over his life due to his occupation, he returned to Erie in 2001 after the passing of his wife to be close to family. George worked in the automotive industry his entire life becoming a Marketing Representative for Mobile Oil Corporation. After retiring from Mobile Oil with over thirty years of service, he continued his career with Walker Oil Corporation for an additional four years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife to whom he loved deeply, Ruth R. (Totten); two brothers Dale and Charles Bennett. He is survived by his son, Edward and his wife Kelly and his grandchildren, Loran and Thomas Bennett all of Girard, Pennsylvania. Friends and family may call at Duskas-Martin Funeral Home, 4216 Sterrettania Road, Wednesday, November 3rd from 3:00 until the time of service at 6:00 pm. Burial will be Thursday at 11:00 am at Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorials be made to AseraCare Hospice 12664 Rt. 19 S Unit 1 Waterford, PA 16441. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the administration and staff at Saint Mary’s Home Asbury Ridge and the entire staff at AseraCare Hospice.
