Obituary of John William Forinash

John William “Big John” Forinash age 57 of Parma, OH, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on May 17, 2021 in Albion, PA. He was born at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie on May 4, 1964 a son of the late William Oscar and Jean Anne (Thornton) Forinash.
John proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard (PFC) in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He worked in law enforcement / corrections and later as a machine operator. John lived most of his life in the Erie and Edinboro area, until moving to Ohio. He enjoyed watching TV programs about restoring old cars and vintage guns and antique rifles.
He is survived by his wife Elaine (Smith) Forinash; his in laws, Jimmy and Gloria Smith; four children, Diedra, Kelly, Holly and Kyle; two sisters, Julie (Randy) Barrett and Cynthia Thayer; one brother, Michael Hannold, eight grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. John had a special love and fondness for Delmar (Uncle Jack) Forinash and Uncle Leonard Thornton and leaves behind his Aunt Janet Ruland and Aunt Mabel Thompson.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. Erie, PA 16506 on Sunday from 12:00 to 3:00 PM and 5:00 to 8:00 PM, and are invited to a funeral service there on Monday morning at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mark Warszawski officiating. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in Hope Cemetery, Cranesville, PA.
