Obituary of Nancy Ann Krupp

Please share a memory of Nancy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Nancy Ann Michaels Krupp, age 85, passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord on June 15, 2020, from her home in Millcreek Township, PA after a brief illness. She was born on September 26, 1934 in the city of Erie, the daughter of the late William R. and Mary E. Schuster Michaels. Nancy graduated from Academy High School, Class of 1952. Nancy earned her license as a practical nurse while raising a family of four. She had a huge heart for those suffering with mental illness, working most of her thirty-year career with St. Vincent's Health Center's Serenity Recovery Center for those struggling with addictions. Nancy was grateful to be a member of Grace Church in McKean. She loved the Word of God, especially how it has been preserved over thousands of years, how it proves itself and fits together perfectly. She remained a student of the Bible all her life as a member of Grace's "Digging Deeper" women's Bible study group for 25 years. She loved the 23rd Psalm, often saying that she was living out this Psalm during her final days in this world. Nancy especially loved the verse John 3:16 which she considered to be the Gospel in a Nutshell. She wrote: "The pandemic and the cancer have forced me to slow down so I can evaluate what is really important." During her illness, Nancy received countless cards and well wishes from friends who could not come visit her due to the stay-at-home orders. She very much appreciated every card that was sent to her; she was aware of your love and concern. Whenever she had a chance, Nancy expressed to others her confidence that she was going to heaven when she died. Often their response was, "I wish I could be as confident as you. I wish I could be sure about my own life." Her response to them, and to you if you share this uncertainty, is: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life," meaning that believers in Christ have eternal life as a present possession, not as a future possibility. Nancy made it known from the outset of her illness that she would not be seeking medical intervention to prolong her life. Her attitude was that of an adventurer, ready to embark on her next big trip. Many cards sent to Nancy said "Don't give up!" or "Praying for your recovery". Her response was that we can't tell God what He should do, but we can trust Him to do what's best. "I believe there is a home prepared for me. So I'm not giving up, I'm going on." She served as a weight recorder for TOPS PA 0056 (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly) where she not only achieved her weight loss goal, but kept it off for many years. She was honored to have her picture on the cover of TOPS magazine celebrating her success. Nancy had a love of singing from the time she was a young girl. She sang solos for weddings, recitals, in church; once she sang on the radio from the stage of the Warner Theater. She sang as a part of many church choirs. Nancy loved to travel; she visited Hawaii, Europe and most notably the Holy Land of Israel. Nancy enjoyed various kinds of crafts, shopping at thrift stores, selling books online and writing letters to the editor of the Erie Times News. Nancy was preceded in death by two husbands, Kenneth Trapp of Erie, the father of her four daughters, and by James Krupp of Erie. She is survived by her sister June Kaufman (George) of Millcreek, four daughters, Cheryl Trapp Boyd (Sam), Bonnie Wittmaak (Donnie), Carolyn Lindenmuth (David), and Jennifer Tower; two grandsons, Chris Lindenmuth (Shelley) and Joe Lindenmuth (Yelana), two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and long-time friend Randy Rickwire. The family wants to thank the Hospice of the Visiting Nurses Association for their assistance in caring for Nancy at home during this difficult time. The family held a private ceremony of interment at Laurel Hill Cemetery on Thursday with Pastor Al Detter presiding. In lieu of flowers, Nancy asks everyone to read and contemplate the third chapter of the Gospel of John. For more information about Nancy's life, please go to nancykrupp.weebly.com
