Ronald “Ron” F. Kolb

 

 

Ronald “Ron” F. Kolb, age 87, of Millcreek Twp., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, November 30, 2018 at his residence.

He was born in Hammond, IN on September 23, 1931, the son of the late Fred A. and Evelyn Heckler Kolb.

Ron received his BA degree from DePauw University in Greencastle, IN where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.  He then served in the US Coast Guard during the Korean War.

He was employed at and retired from Warner and Swasey Co. where he was in sales and training.

Ron was a member of Wayside Presbyterian Church, a former President and member of the Presque Isle Rotary Club, and the YMCA Men’s Club.  He was a volunteer for the Erie Academic Sports League for many years and enjoyed the Business and Student Exchange programs through Rotary International; where he traveled internationally and housed foreign exchange students. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years Mary A. Pearson Kolb, one daughter Laura K. Kolb of Philadelphia, PA, one son Tom F. Kolb (Jeannie) of Millcreek Twp., two granddaughters Courtney Schmidt (Steve) of Drums, PA, Caitlin Kolb of Buffalo, NY, one brother Allen Kolb (Joanne) of Atlanta, GA, and two nephews. 

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from 4 p.m. until time of the Funeral Service there at 7:00 p.m.  Private interment.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the International Rotary Foundation Scholarship Fund, 14280 Collections Center Dr., Chicago, IL 60693.
